Nelson teenager Anna Grahame, who recently performed in the “Sounds Excellent” concert at the Theatre Royal, is one of only 12 people nationwide to make it through to the final of the Freshly Squeezed Talent Quest, to be screened on TV One at 8pm on New Year’s Eve.
After sending an audition CD Anna was chosen, along with 200 others nationwide to audition for the final 12 places. For Anna this meant a trip to Christchurch for the day of auditions and then several days of suspense before she received the great news that she was to be flown to Auckland for the finals.
The 12 contestants spent six exciting days preparing for the show with rehearsals, vocal training from entertainment veteran Suzanne Lynch, and interviews. Among many highlights for Anna was the awesome experience of singing with Don McGlashan during the show rehearsal, as she had auditioned with his song that Hollie Smith will be performing on the night. Anna will fly back to Auckland on New Year’s Eve for the show, where the winner will be voted on by viewers. Voting is between 10pm and 11.30pm (you can text “Anna” to 5540 to support this fabulous homegrown talent).
Freshly Squeezed Talent will feature during TV One’s New Year’s countdown show, hosted by Jason Gunn and Matt Gibb, with performances by Kiwi high fliers J. Williams, Che Fu, Hollie Smith, Annie Crummer and Don McGlashan.

Well done Anna. You’re away now – hang on for the ride and good luck.
Yeah Anna! Well done, congratulations and good luck. It’s ironic but this year I’d decided I wasn’t going to think about New Year’s Eve and just let it roll on by. NOw I’ll have to watch TV and vote at the very least!!!!!
