Apart from polishing our repertoire and performing at various private functions over the past 3 months, members of Nelson Bays Harmony have been busy learning a package of songs from the Phantom of The Opera. What fun!
It is always such a buzz when a new song takes shape. Some of the Phantom songs are a little less barbershop than most of our songs (there are moments where we sound more like a women’s choir than a barbershop chorus) but they are no less challenging to sing.
Next Saturday has been set aside by chorus members as Phantom Day. We have hired the Nayland College Performing Arts Centre, so we can work on the songs in front of the mirror as we add some theatre to the singing.
The first public performace of the package will be in the Nelson School of Music, 10th Sept at The Proms.
