You don’t need to read music or have a trained voice. You don’t even need experience – just a willingness to learn vocal techniques and performance skills. Our group is enthusiastic and supportive.You’ll have an initial voice check to place you into one of the four voice parts according to your range – bass, baritone, lead, or tenor.
- Leads sing the tune (melody)
- Basses sing the lowest harmony part
- Tenors sing the high part
- Baritones sing the leftover notes in the chord! Weaving above and below the melody
If you think you would enjoy singing with us, we'll guide you through our audition process so you can become a full chorus member.
Be warned – singing four part harmony is seriously addictive!
We rehearse on Thursday evenings 7-9.30pm in the hall at Club Waimea, just through the lights in Lower Queen St, Richmond.
We have carpools from Atawhai, Nelson and Motueka. Let us know if you need a ride.
